Ms. Karissa Nguyen is director of Training, Research and Innovation at Mending Kids, an organization providing critical surgical care to sick children since 2005. At Mending Kids, Karissa co-founded the organization’s training, research and innovation program to advance medical self-sufficiency on surgical missions. Karissa’s research interest relates to global burden of pediatric surgical diseases, health impact assessment, and building surgical capacity in LMICs. She has more than 12 years of experience in environmental and clinical research, and program development.
