Dr Mark Perlmutter is a prominent orthopedic surgeon with Carolina Regional Orthopaedics, P.A., in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, USA.  Dr. Perlmutter has degrees from The Ohio State University and Thomas Jefferson University.  He serves as both Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Regents of the United States Section of the International College of Surgeons.  

Mark has participated in surgical missions and disaster relief work on four continents and in dozens of countries. Dr Perlmutter was awarded The G4 Alliance Collaboration Prize for his ongoing project to develop an open source, free, and globally available database of impassioned and experienced international volunteers to enable LMIC’s to fertilize their healthcare programs and efficiently sustain them. Ultimately, his goal is to build The G4 Alliance's volunteer database into the foundational network for global telesurgery, to efficiently match an LMIC’s local needs with HIC capability.
