The Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC), Harvard Medical school


The Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) is a part of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and in the Department of Plastic and Oral Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. It houses the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowships, and serves to link the global surgical research efforts at the Harvard teaching hospitals. The PGSSC also serves as one of the primary groups hosting the Secretariat for The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery.
