Workshops with the objective to further define which challenges the Surgical Equity Prize will focus on.
Amb. Parsan, the president of the Board of the G4 Alliance, will be leading the surgery session.
Dr Emmanuel Makasa, a Zambian diplomat and surgeon that was involved in the Lancet Commissions on Surgery, followed by three short talks by
Dr Jana MacLeod, a Canadian surgeon and a consultant in General Surgery at Columbia Africa Medical Center in Nairobi
Dr Gautam Shetty, Indian consultant, orthopaedic surgeon and medical device innovator, Mullaji Knee Clinic & Arthritis R&D Limited
Dr Carolina Haylock-Loor, an anesthesiologist, intensive care physician and the President of the Honduran Society of Anesthesia, Reanimation and Pain Therapy.
After this, a series of questions will be examined in small groups of about 8-10 people. By the end of the day, we hope to have a number of Challenge Statements that can be further researched to create the Surgical Equity Prize.
